A WISH IN TIME
by Laurel Bradley

In eighteenth-century Scotland, Magda McClellan, eight months pregnant, is granted one wish from Auld Annie, a wise woman accused of witchcraft. But Magda declines to use her wish because she is perfectly happy; besides, she doesn't believe in witches. Little does she know how that refusal will forever change her life.

In twenty-first century New York, Maggie McDonald and her husband desperately want to have a child. While they wait for a procedure at a fertility clinic, a Scottish nurse named Annie promises to grant them a baby ... if that's their wish. When Maggie awakens, she finds herself round with child in the eighteenth century and panics.

Magda has also been catapulted through time, waking up in a hospital bed in New York—and she's not pregnant anymore. When she goes home with a man who claims to be her husband, she searches for clues to the identity of this Maggie McDonald, whose body she now inhabits. Why is Magda here? And why is she no longer pregnant?

As the two women become familiar with their new worlds, they find themselves on emotional paths of self-discovery—but will they find the way home before it's too late?

Harlequin
March 2007

I love it! Susan Grant pumps up the adrenaline with another jolting good adventure! Earth is in danger of being invaded. Assassins' knives —and more advanced weapons— are out for the alien Cavin Far Star (hero of YOUR PLANET OR MINE), who has gone awol on Earth with the love of his life, Senator Jana Jasper. A plasma-sword wielding Queen who is known to castrate over-enthusiastic suitors, is looking for a mate... Cavin Far Star! But, a ruthless someone else is determined to be the Queen's consort, and he will stop at nothing to have his way. High ranking, alien Ministerial co-conspirators are killing each other... and that's just the Prologue.

Real estate developer and ace National Guard fighter pilot, Jared Jasper is off-roading across his ranch when he T-bones an invisible, crashed, alien assassin's space ship. What he unleashes when he sits in the interactive pilot seat and fires off sexually creative, ultra macho "trash talk” at a hot ‘n haughty alien beauty could imperil or save our world as we know it.

Susan Grant is one of today's best authors of action-packed alien romance, owing to the page-turner quality of her writing, her flair for the dramatic, the romantic, and the absolute authority of her worldbuilding, not least because Susan Grant knows her way around cockpits.

MY FAVORITE EARTHLING is a glorious, sexy, breathtaking romp across the solar systems and beyond. Ride the shockwave. If highly sexually motivated aliens float your boat (or your space fleet) this romance could be for you! I couldn't put it down.

His High-and-Mightiness, The Imperial Tiger Prince, Tarrant-Arragon:

When pursuing an Earthling with a view to eventual Mating, you should do --or not do-- as I command, not as I did. I suffered mightily before my beloved little Mate forgave me for abducting her at first sight, chasing her across a muddy cow pasture, attempting to supervise her --very necessary-- bathtime, and expecting her to share my bed on our first night together. (She did, but we had to play chess all night).

Females cannot capture a potential mate's love and respect with quite such high-handed Dating and Mating behaviors as I attempted. Nor with the underhand tactics that my sister Martia-Djulia tried when she thought she might blackmail Commander Jason into returning permanently to her bed.

First, do not chase your prey. That takes away the masculine fun of doing the chasing. At least, take turns. Preferably, show dignity. Pretend to be a little aloof. That is the charm and fascination of our House's cats, after all.

Secondly, do not frighten your prey. Do not let him know everything that you mean to do to him and with him and for how long, until he is used to you. Do not show him your Imperial relatives. Trust me, they will frighten him.

Thirdly, do not feel obliged to osculate on your first date. Mystery is good, especially when it comes to orifices. All beings value highly that which is not easily possessed... or penetrated. Do not be easily possessed.

Fourthly, show a pleasant and flattering interest in your potential Mate's interests, ambitions, and opinions, but do not interrogate him. Interrogation is best left to your experienced male protectors.

Finally, Display confidence in yourself. That is incredibly sexy. Confidence is NOT asking if you look fat, inappropriately dressed, over-painted. Do not confuse confidence with arrogance. Being confident is not the same thing as flaunting a high opinion of yourself (even if you are a god and a future Emperor). Competence is also attractive. Males admire girls who can start a fire, whittle a weapon, and read a star-map.

And, just because you look your very best does not mean that you should allow yourself to be captured on surveillance footage. There are three things, maybe four, that gods and men do not look particularly splendid and dignified while doing. Do not allow yourself to be filmed eating or kissing... unless it is on the occasion of your wedding.

Now, if any world leaders are reading this, and are in need of my advice about dealing with a pair of bored but unwilling-to-mate subversives, I say, maroon them on a desert island and spray them repeatedly with aphrodisiac-spiked rain....

Prince Tarrant-Arragon currently appears in print in FORCED MATE,
and the sequel INSUFFICIENT MATING MATERIAL. He will be making further appearances (meddling royally) in at least three projected alien love stories.

Coming soon in the Second Time Around romance anthology by Highland Press

Arwenna Thompson is a witch about to lose her bakery. It's Christmas—and it feels downright crappy. She can't help but recall the years she was happy with the man of her dreams, Tucker McKay Williams and the Christmas cheer surrounding her only reminds her more of him. The thing is though, Fate's not through with them. Thanks to an ancient family "curse", as her family jokingly calls it, Arwenna and Tucker are about to get a second chance at love. Read on for a sneak peek at their first meeting in three years.

spaceBright lights bathed the small courtyard, interwoven with childish screams and answering, indulgent laughter. She burrowed deeper into her patched corduroy coat, shoulders hunched against a biting wind and pockets bulging with fisted hands. She squared her shoulders and dove into the throng. Her arm snagged on a passing elbow and gasped at its not so subtle glide against the underside of her breast. Arwenna paused mid-step and swiveled, multiple tiny braids on her head swinging and eyes cutting to the owner. Personal space was at a premium with her, its inner sanctum a guarded privilege.

spaceThe crowd thinned and she gaped at the man revealed. Amber eyes framed by long lashes fueled her frown, fanning it into indignant anger. Mischief danced in his sun gold depths and a pair of dimples snuck their way into the corners of sinful lips. Those pockets of mirth mocked, as did his beautiful eyes. Her mouth turned down, jaw locking and teeth grinding. His aftershave undulated and she drank in its rich scent, so familiarly embracing.

spaceTucker McKay Williams, relentless heartbreaker.

spaceHer eyes narrowed. He flicked a two-fingered salute from the brim of his Stetson and split a cheeky grin. Power stirred deep in her breast and her hair twisted into wild disarray, not a single breeze stirring. She smoothed the errant, blonde strands, tucked them behind her ears and dampened her magic. Public venues were never her choice for confrontation, least of all a magically charged one, but she couldn't resist a few cutting remarks. Her lungs stung from gulps of frost-laden air as she tried to ignore her body's tightened coiling, budding nipples and the damnable pulsing between her thighs! Shallow reactions to a shallow man, she reassured herself

space A cheerful firewall of red and green material, the crowd converged suddenly and Tucker's infamous face disappeared. She started, heart skittering. She strained to see, but the crowd had literally dragged him away. All that stood before her was dashing shoppers and the multitude of partying pleasure seekers common to downtown's Friday night atmosphere.

spaceNausea rode high in her throat, its bitter residue coating her tongue. Her breathes dispensed jittery coils as she stumbled to her shop doors, fumbling for her keys. The cold, jagged metal blurred, but she found the right one and shoved it home. A quick twist and slamming boom signaled safety. Arwenna sagged against the glass door, breathes thin and hurried.

spaceA twisting vertigo buzzed in her head and she jerked, startled to find herself sprawled on the shop's unyielding stone tile. She drew up her knees, tightening them to her chest. Golden eyes flitted across her vision and she slapped a hand to her eyes to disperse their haunting gaze, but her palm came away moistened. She pulled her coat lining up to banish the grief.

spaceHer heart—it ached, as it had not in three years, since he had so callously discarded their relationship. Arwenna shook her head. "What happened to 'fire away'? Get up, little witch. You are stronger than this," she insisted, as often she had in the past. But the question still remained. What was he doing back here...in her life?

spaceShe rose and trudged through the darkened room. Large double doors gave way at her shooing motion and she flicked her wrist, the simple gesture activating a nearby switch. She looked around the substantial room, hoping, but finding no solace.

spaceA roaring sneeze burst forth and she cupped her mouth just in time.

space"Goddess, how I wish I could teach him a lesson," she mumbled, rubbing her nose. "I would show him..."

spaceHer thoughts spoke what her voice could not—not even to herself.

spaceHow I still love him.

Rowena Cherry: This image is one of the most dramatic pictures I've ever seen.
Is there a story behind this image? What are you wearing? (Is it a one piece that is half off, or black pants and some kind of scarf-like restraint? Was this an uncomfortable pose? Was the bondage element deliberate? Or is it supposed to simply suggest undressing?

AC: Actually, that shot of me was taken during a magazine photo shoot that was never published. It was very disappointing for me at that time. The reason for this was all my fault.

I had used this stuff called "Tan Now". It's a spray-on tan you apply to your skin with a sponge brush. When I got to the shoot and took off my shirt, the tan just started to drip all over from the camera lights.

I should have applied it a day before and then lightly showered to get rid of the excess, but I applied it right before the shoot and because of this, it destroyed my opportunity for the cover I was promised. The only photos that came out good were the few shots taken of me wearing this black one-piece cotton outfit. The photographer gave it to me to wear because the clothes I was wearing were ruined from the spray tan.

I remember the photographer was pissed and I felt like crap. Well at that point I just wanted to get the shoot over with and if you look closely at my expression in this shot, you can tell I'm upset. I don't know, but sometimes I wonder maybe things had to work out that way in order to get that shot which is still one of the greatest photos that were ever taken of me!

Rowena Cherry: I visited your website http://www.anthonycatanzaro.com and was immediately struck by your logo. That glowering eye image is immensely cool. It's your best eye, I assume? What gave you the idea of choosing that for a logo? Does everyone comment?

AC: When I first developed my website, I needed a logo. I was thinking "what could I use that would make people's heads turn?" I said to myself I have an incredible spirit and soul. Your eyes are the mirrors to your spirit and soul so why not use one of my eyes as a logo? Ever hear of the evil eye, well my eye is the eye of faith!

I know people visit the site and are drawn to it. We all have an energy in us and we have to use it to our advantage not disadvantage. Your eyes and the way you carry yourself are the life energy force you live by. I want people to feel better from me, I want to be able to help them to be the best they could ever imagine being.

Rowena Cherry: I love your website welcome wording. "Welcome to the official site of Anthony Catanzaro, one of the hottest male fitness models ever. Here you can find all you need to know about this sexy Italian stallion, from his busy male fitness modeling schedule, to his film and television appearances, magazine and romance novel cover modeling as well as his bodybuilding competitions, infomercials, and his ever growing fan Club."

OK. I have to admit, the Italian stallion thing intrigues me. Sly Stallone was described in a similar vein. Are all gorgeous Italian celebrities automatically called "stallions" for the rhyme and the suggestion of a sexy lifestyle? Or is there more to it?

AC Well, I don't know about every Italian guy but I know I'm a stallion not just because I'm Italian, but because I'm a real man!

I'm not afraid of anyone or anything. I'm also not afraid to cry. Jesus cried and who is more of a man than him? The only battle I'm afraid of is the battle against myself. I know that I can do anything, but sometimes the enemy comes around and takes a cheap shot if you know what I mean. We all have thoughts of negativity sometimes and we all get in moods. It's normal, I guess. The only thing that matters is what's inside you, like I always say "it doesn't matter how many times you get knocked down, all that matters is how many times you get back up"!

Rowena Cherry: Tell me more about the customized diets? How does that work? Can you trust a questionnaire when customizing a diet? Is there any kind of guarantee? What would you like people to know about your diet? What do you think about the Glycaemic index?

AC: I'm glad you asked me about this, Rowena! My customized diets are diet plans that I develop for individuals around the world. All you have to do is fill out my questionnaire form at www.anthonycatanzaro.com/eating.html , and I will personally evaluate your info and create a diet plan for your specific goals and needs. Thousands around the world are having huge success from following my plans which means the world to me. Like I said before, It's a blessing for me to help others get into shape physically and mentally.

As far as the glycaemic index is concerned, the worst thing you can do is remove carbohydrates from your diet. Yes, not everybody needs the same amount, but carbohydrates are life. Remember, they come from the ground which means they come from God. My diet plans are not diets at all but healthy eating plans for the rest of your life. That's why diets are useless, eating healthy is what I will teach you with my plans. Like I always say my plans are not for a short time, they are for you to follow and learn from for the rest of your life!

Rowena Cherry: Your resume is very impressive! (Author's note.... visit Tony's website www.anthonycatanzaro.com to see a full list of all his TV and film credits) Which film or infomercial did you have the most fun in? Can you share any funny stories about anything that went wrong, or was not shown?

AC: I have been a guest on many talk shows throughout my career. My first talk show was Phil Donohue, I was a talking about male dancing... this was a funny show at that time. Back in 1994 shows really didn't talk about things like this. Today we have Jerry Springer.

When I was on Rikki Lake, I was competing in the first ever King of Cinco De Mayo contest they were looking for a Latin king to represent May 5th. I won and I'm not even Latin. Ok are you ready for this... Maury always had me on the show. I use to escort the ladies out but they weren't ladies they were transsexuals! In the beginning, I didn't know, these girls/guys were all over me and I was thinking WOW, I'm the man... little did I know that it was them who were the men!

Rowena Cherry: You have a lot of skills and talents. "Master impersonator of voices and characters; Professional dancer in all types of dance; Skilled cook ; Motivational speaker; Personal fitness trainer and nutritionist; Guitar player..." Whoor whatis your favorite subject to impersonate and why?

AC: I love to imitate just about anyone! But I guess the person I most of all love to imitate is Al Pacino in Scarface. I do Tony Montana so good you really think it's him!

Rowena Cherry: I see you are a Mr. Romance. Was that the Romantic Times BOOKClub pageant?

AC I was on a reality TV show called Mr. Romance. It was a crazy experience I had to live with 11 other guys, they drove me nuts!! I can't believe what I had to go through on that show. They had us enter a man pageant at the end we had to wear these costumes and come out of these booth size romance novels. It was a cool experience and I'm glad I was involved in it. Well that's reality TV for you. I've been on some romance covers I've done 8 covers already but I only started a year ago, I have plans on doing much more very soon!

Anthony Catanzaro

Rowena Cherry: Is see from your website that you have won a lot of fitness trophies and awards, and that you have been in a lot of fitness informercials. What is it like to do a Nordic Track infomercial? Did you learn anything while doing it? Is it hard work?

AC: That was my first commercial. I don't even have the tape anymore. I was on there for a short time but it was my first commercial experience so it was exciting for me.

Rowena Cherry What came first, your clothing/fashion modeling, or your competitive bodybuilding? How did you get your start? Where you nervous the first time you took your clothes off for a judge/interviewer/camera?

AC: Actually, I was modeling clothes and evening wear first, then I got into fitness modeling soon after. Then shortly after that, I became a bodybuilder. The first contest I entered was the 1996 Mr. Fitness I placed 3rd, but knew I could do better so I came back the following year and won the show! I love modeling my body. I'm not shy at all.

Rowena Cherry: Do you have a hero/mentor/role model or someone in whose steps you follow?

AC: Well truthfully, I was always impressed with heroes like Superman and the Incredible Hulk. I was always fascinated as a young boy with heroes that could save the day and beat up the bad guy.

I guess in my own way, I'm a hero today. I help people all over the world get into shape and I inspire people to live a better life. But the greatest hero of all is Christ, he died for us so that we could live in paradise with him. But that doesn't mean we have a free pass to sin and hurt others, we live by what we do. If you live your life negative and miserable, then others around you will feel the same. I always said you are a product of your own environment! Learn to hang around those who are "dream builders not dream breakers". Be the best you can be and always remember to have faith because when you have 100% faith and confidence in yourself, I truly believe you can accomplish anything!

Rowena Cherry: Have you ever been injured while working on a photo shoot or commercial? If so, how did it happen, and what did you do? (Like, we heard about Viggo losing a tooth while acting a scene in LOTR and simply sticking it back, and a lap dancer managed to put his customer down safely before crawling into the wings with a torn ACL...)

AC: Here's a funny story, when I was on that Mr. Romance TV show I was talking about earlier I was wearing a Hercules costume and wearing those Greek sandals at the time when I stumped my toe right into a sofa! That was all caught on camera as it happened! They rushed me to the hospital in my Hercules outfit can you imagine this? They wheel me in there and I got the crown on my head my muscles are bulging out from the pain the nurses were like.. what is this a joke! Needless to say thank god they brought clothes to me, and I went back to the house taped up and ready to face another day on reality TV.

Rowena Cherry: One last thing: Is there anything I haven't asked that you would like my readers to know?

AC: So much is going on ...I'm writing my first book called "Reaching for the Stars"! It will be sold as an eBook as well as a soft cover copy.

For this project, I teamed up with bodybuilding.com's number one writer David Robson. We are developing the first ever question and answer type book on how to become successful in all aspects of life from achieving the perfect body, to building your mind to achieve your best life ever!

I also just wrapped up a photo shoot for Hasbro toys. They are coming out with a fun new game that I will help to promote.

I'm also appearing on a board game called "On the Prowl"

This month, I will also be shooting for Physique Bodyware's spring line next week.

And on top of all of that........ I'm headed for South Africa in a couple of weeks to film a new and exciting infomercial hosted by yours truly.

Also, don't forget to visit my website www.anthonycatanzaro.com there are always new photos and articles to view!

Rowena Cherry: Anthony: , thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions, and to share such magnificent photographs of yourself.

AC: I want to thank you as well Rowena! I hope your readers enjoy the interview and the photos. I hope it inspires them to get healthy and be the best they can be! As always, Good luck and God bless! Love always, Anthony Catanzaro

Djetth (Jeth) and Princess Martia-Djulia (Marsha-Julia) are marooned on a desert island, trapped like a reluctant pair of animals in a zoo breeding program.

Martia-Djulia had a wild fling with Djetth when he looked very different and was known as Commander Jason.

Djetth is trying to make sure that Martia-Djulia does not eat anything poisonous, or incapacitate him.

He can look after her, but she cannot even look after herself can't even undress herself!). He tied her up for the night for her own protection, and his.

"Oh, Djetth! Djetth, you are so ... capable!"

Not for a thousand worlds' tribute had she meant to exclaim aloud. Martia-Djulia would have clapped a chagrined hand to her mouth, but her hands were bound.

Still lying on her side, she scanned the empty campsite, and exhaled in relief. Djetth was nowhere in sight.

"Spread your legs and I'll show you how capable I am!" his deep voice growled from above her.

Oh no! Martia-Djulia looked up. There he was up in a tree, looking as healthy as a god, grinning lustfully at her. For a moment, she was lost for words.

How commanding, masterful and effective he was. There were times when a lonely fool could mistake Djetth for almost everything a Mate should be. But, she did not want sex with him if it would be meaningless. And it would be meaningless. No self-repecting Princess could respond favorably to such a crass proposition. Martia-Djulia called on her Royal dignity.

"I out-rank you!" she said with as much icy hauteur as possible, given that she was lying on her back in a glorified compost heap.

"According to Imperial Protocol and the rules of precedence, it is not for you to suggest such impertinences."

Djetth's expression darkened. He jumped down from his tree with a thump, and advanced on her. She waited shivering for what he'd do to punish her.

*

Djetth could think of a dozen sarcastic retorts, any one of which would put the cock-teasing, gold-digging bitch firmly in her place."I most certainly outrank you, my dear, so how about it?" for one. "Protocol wasn't a problem when Jason backed you against a structural pillar, parted your legs with his thigh, and swore he had to 'have' you, was it?" for another. "Oh, yeah? Perhaps I should thrust your gorgeous, high-class ass against a tree, and show you who's in charge
here!"

She looked aghast, which inflamed him further.

"Why the Carnality did you spread your legs so eagerly for Commander Jason, but won't for me? I'm the same bloody guy for f***'s sake."

He couldn't say any of it. He could learn, though.

Giving her choices was obviously not the way to go. She chose not to take a risk at every turn. Except for that one time with Jason, which might have been because Jason hadn't given her a choice.

The gallant, charming, quiet warrior, Mike Ward was voted READERS CHOICE
at the Daytona Beach Romantic Times BOOKClub convention 2006,
and has generously donated a set of military desert uniforms to be
auctioned for charity at the Houston RT convention.

~ ~ ~

RC: Was the 2006 Daytona Beach your first modeling experience?

MW: It was. I suppose you could call me the "accidental cover model." I was on temporary duty in Kansas City three years ago (as of September 2006) and was staying at the same hotel that was hosting the RT convention. I was in my Air Force uniform and a couple of attendees mistakenly thought I was one of the cover models and that I was in costume. After clearing that up, they invited me up to one of the balls. There I met Kayla Perrin and a few other writers and we hit it off as friends. A few months after the convention, Kayla, who can be very persuasive, asked me to try out as a cover model for the next year's convention. I was flattered, but turned her down because basically, I'm really a very shy person and personally, didn't think I was in good enough shape, physically.

Last year, (2005) Kayla asked again and once again, I turned her down, but I had a good reason; I was deployed to the desert in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. Basically, I was sleeping in a tent in an undisclosed foreign location during the convention and since they don't pick winners by proxy, I was off the hook again.

As I mentioned earlier, Kayla can be persuasive and earlier this year (2006) she asked again. I thought of every possible reason I could not to do it and put them all in an e-mail to her. Before hitting the send button I re-read my note and realized they weren't reasons, they were excuses. I realized I was scared and even intimidated by the thought of competing in an event like RC. I changed my mind, deleted the note and the rest as they say is history, I had a great time at RT and made new friends and met hundreds of incredibly great fans.

RC: What intrigued me most about you--maybe I'm superficial--is that you are an active member of the armed forces. A potential Mr Romance doesn't quite fit with my idea of a an officer and a gentlemen. OK, the gentleman thing is perfect... but is cover modeling appropriately ...macho?

MW: Well, I used to be an active duty member of the military. I retired from the military after 22 years of service in June. As for being macho, being on the cover of a novel may not be typical for a military member, but spending an afternoon holding a beautiful mofel is cenrainly enjoyable.

RC: What is the most "heroic" thing you have ever done for the sake of looking good for a modeling assignment or screen test? Or, where would you draw the line? What would you NOT do?

MW: Well, as I said, I'm a very shy guy, so no nudity, but I don't mind taking my shirt off. I shot my first cover in July and it was a beach scene shot in Malibu, so, the top was off. Ironically, the shoot was for Kayla's new book. She writes for one of Harlequin's publishing arms, and sent them photos of me. I'm very glad they liked them. The shoot was a very humbling experience. Since it was my first one, I was definitely stiff at first, but became more relaxed as the afternoon wore on.

I don't have a theater background but it sure would have come in handy during that photo shoot. I had a good model to work with and the photography team was great. They gave me pointers such as how to place my hands, how to hold a model without gripping her, ad libbing to keep the action going, and positioning my body so that I'm facing the camera, but looking at the model. In all, it was a great experience. It lasted about four hours and I never got bored, but I can see where someone who does this full time would. There is a lot of repetition, it was very hot out, you're always being told what to do and you are expected to know what to do even when you don't always know what to do. Wait, that sounds like boot camp! Actually, it was fun and hopefully I'll get called on again to model for someone.

RC: What kind of fictional hero do you enjoy reading about when you read for pleasure/ Or what would you most like to portray on the cover of a romance novel?

MW: I am a big fan of the James Bond books and I've read every one by Ian Fleming. It's not that I want to be a spy or anything like that, but I always loved the sense of style and presence the Bond character has. Cary Grant had the same type of style and so does Denzel Washington and Sidney Poitier. I know the open shirt look sells books, but I would love to do a cover while dapperly attired in a suit and tie, a la, Richard Gere on the posters for American Gigolo.

RC: You competed in the Mr Romance Pageant last year, and did very well. How did you feel about the experience? Is this something you would consider doing again in the future?

MW: I was very surprised and very pleased to have been named Mr. Cover Model 2006 by the readers, after all, they are the people who purchase the books. I'm not sure if I'll be in Houston next year because of my school schedule, -- I will earn my second bachelor's degree in April when I graduate from Florida State University -- however, I will donate a set of desert battle dress uniforms to RC to be auctioned off to support its involvement with the Support Our Soldiers America organization. The set even has my name tag and patches from the my deployment sewn on. Hopefully it will be a big hit next year and will help the organization raise funds.

RC: Is there anything I haven't asked that you would like to share?

MW: Oh, I'm a single dad who raised two daughters after my wife and I divorced 12 years ago. Both girls are doing great and are now off to college and working. I'm single, retired and curious about what great things are in store as I begin my new life.

RC: Supposing cover artists, photographers, or fans wanted to find out more about you, do you have a website, or a blog, or email ?

MW: No website yet, but I can be reached at easy4mike@knology.net

Thank you very much, Mike Ward.

An absolute treat, this book is definitely a keeper!

Rowena Cherry has done it again! Her first book in this series, Forced Mate, made a fan out of me so I knew this one, Insufficient Mating Material, would be another great read. I wasn't wrong! This reader rarely goes for science fiction material, but anything Ms Cherry writes I will read, and you should as well. Sensual, funny and highly imaginative, you feel as though you are there, in space, outside of this earthly existence.

All I can say is: where is the next book in the series, Rowena? I'm ready to read!

FOUR STARS
Continuing the award-winning book Forced Mate, Insufficient Mating Material is a strong, intelligently written book that carries on this futuristic history. Ms. Cherry wrote a provocative well-described story of love, betrayal and survival.

Bravo, Rowena Cherry, by far you are the Queen of Futuristic Romance!

From the riveting first chapter, you had me glued to my seat. Your writing style invokes the deepest form of highflying action. Once again your have provided the best there is to be offered in Futuristic Romance. Very highly recommended.

INSUFFICIENT MATING MATERIAL is the (third) in the series however is so well written that the reader will not have to have read the earlier books to keep up with the action.

Five StarsFIVE STARS
First off let me say that even though this book is part of a series, it can still be read as a stand alone story. But this book takes on a much deeper meaning for the readers who did enjoy the previous novel, FORCED MATE.

I simply could not stay mad at Emperor Tarrant-Arragon for the stunts he pulls on this couple since I understand the reasoning behind his actions. More is going on than I state in the synopsis above too! My problem is that I could not think of a way to tell about any of it without giving something vital away. So you will simply have to read in order to find out what the sub-plot is. Those of you who enjoy a lot of spice in your space opera, such as I do, will find yourself backtracking a few times and rereading various sections. If you do not like hot, steamy, memorable flavors in your tea, I suggest you pass the kettle on to someone who does. Excellent adventure and highly recommended! *****

"A Unique and Creative Read!"

Princess Martia-Djulia is livid when she finds out her brother almost succeeded in tricking her into a marriage she does not want with a man she does not love. Her would be groom is far from the standards as he could be...and yet her brother thought this a good idea? .....Ms. Cherry has done it again with her latest offering. It's spicy, sassy, and a page-turner to boot! She has created larger then life characters and a very entertaining and unique world readers will find is fresh and new. I'm normally not a large fan of the sci-fi sub genre...but Ms. Cherry is one writer I will make the acceptation for. You are guaranteed a means of escape and this is a writer have no trouble recommending.

~Reviewed by Kristi Ahlers (The Best Reviews)

This book also has one of the best ending sequences.

Everyone in the story pulls together against a common enemy. Ms. Cherry has created a seriously evil villain. What goes around comes around, and it definitely came back on this villainous specimen.

Five Romantic Thumbs Up!
Let me state right now for the record, I don't read romance stories. I dislike
them intensely. Imagine my surprise when I finished reading Rowena Cherry's
romance novel, "Insufficient Mating Material" in two days. I'm just sorry it
ended. This is a romance story told with true grit. ... Run, don't walk to the nearest bookstore, and buy a copy of this truly awesome book.... Five
romantic thumbs up!

Loved the humour in this sexy Sci Fi book

I haven't read Science Fiction in years and received this book as a present.

The sense of humour in this book totally appeals to me. I liked the story line
and was also happy that there is a Family Tree Page provided. I referred back to
it often, I have problems in remembering names and this is a useful guide to
follow the somewhat involved family history and plot.

It sure is an action packed book and I highly recommend it, I will certainly
read more of Rowena Cherry's books.

A Wonderful Read

Rowena Cherry knows how to tell a story! I've only recently begun reading Sci-Fi and Paranormal books, and this offering has made me an absolute fan. Her characters are delightful, from Djinni [the ultimate tough but gentle heroine]to Prince Tarrant-Arragon [the arrogant alpha male with the tender heart]to the wisecracking 'earthling' advisor, Grievous... plus many more. I read this from cover to cover without a break! You will too, because this is yet another keeper for your shelf.

Bought it, Read it, Loved it!!

I love this book. It's the only book I've read and reread and enjoyed just as much both times. In fact the more familiar I am with it the more I enjoy it! I smile when I think of the story and characters. Very clever, funny and sexy. The main characters, Tarrant-Arragon and Djinni are wonderful, well developed and the changes in them are very real and believable. I really cared about them and their growing relationship. It's a book rich in imagination and the author obviously loves her characters and the world she's created. The background of political intrigue and dynastic rivalry really adds to the tension and is interesting in it's own right. There's nothing quite like handsome alpha males fighting for supremacy and a mate is there? ;-)

I'd recommend it to anyone who likes sexy (very sexy), romantic, intriguing, laugh out loud science fiction. I'm new to reading this genre and I'm so glad I've discovered Rowena Cherry!

Forced Mate is one of the best sci-fi romances I've read

If you like romance and sci-fi action and adventure, this is the book for you. FORCED MATE takes a contemporary woman, highly trained in the defense arts, and pits her against the most powerful (and sexiest) man in all the universe. The passion is palpable and the plot is enthralling.

Forced Mate is one of the best sci-fi romances I've read, and I'll most certainly be buying books from this author again.

By All the Lechers of Antiquity—A Spellbinding Read!!

As a huge fan of sci-fi romance, I feel the world does not have enough of these great, intricately imaginative authors. I search long and hard for books like FORCED MATE and I was grinning from ear to ear by the second chapter! If you have an appreciation for well thought out plots, ones that dare to overstep the boundaries that exist for romances today, then take that flying leap with Rowena Cherry's FORCED MATE. Prepare to literally steep in the intrigue, character conflict, extremely interesting world-building and blazingly hot romance.

Prince Tarrant-Arragon, whose name reminds me instantly of "tyrant" and "arrogant", is in need of a mate. Not any mate will do though—he needs the last fertile female of his people. Djinni-vera, or Jinny a she calls herself, is that last fertile princess. Hidden on Earth for her protection, she is nonetheless ferreted out by Tarrant. Being that she is very sensitive about his reputation, Tarrant decides not to reveal his true identity. He will tame his defiant mate-to-be, but soon he wants more than just her compliance. In an adventure of the heart that takes them from Earth to the oppressive Royal Deserts and the War Star of the inferior An'Koori, Tarrant-Arragon and Djinni-vera will have to come face to face with what makes each other tick. Will what they find out about one another shape their love or tear it apart?

What a spectacular read! I did not like Tarrant-Arragon at first, though I found him vastly amusing. As a future emperor, he had the delusion that everything he wanted would fall at his feet in gratitude. Not so our heroine. Djinni gives our sexy hero a run for his money, and he, in turn, her. It's an interstellar chess match of wit, wooing and many surprises for the both of them. Author Cherry has penned a mind-blowing world in her new series. The attention to detail, the characters, it's all top-notch. I loved the secondary characters too, especially Grievous. Hint, hint, Ms. Cherry! Love to see more of him! Looking forward to your second in this wonderful series.

MATING NET REVIEW BY DEBORAH MACGILLIVRAY

That Rowena Cherry packed so much action into less than 15,000 words is mind-boggling. It's hard enough when you writer Contemporary Romance or Historical Romance - the readers are "used" to these worlds so you don't have to fill in all the spaces. But in Sci-Fi Romance, you are really biting off a major task. Cherry does it and style, originality and deftness that will leave the reader amazed.
